On December 11, 2022 at approximately 9:09 pm Master Officer J. Melvin met a subject at the police department in regards to outstanding warrants. Upon searching the subject Master Officer J. Melvin located a cigarette pack with a folded one dollar bill in it and upon further inspection Master Officer J. Melvin noted the contents of the dollar bill to be crystal meth. The male subject was identified as Andrew Hester 53 from the Roanoke Rapids area and he was charged with Possession of methamphetamine (1.1 grams) and served an order for arrest and was placed under a $20,000 bond with a court date of December 15, 2022.
