On November 2, 2022, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department Narcotics Division along with the Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant in the “no hundred” block of Roanoke Avenue. The search yielded 40 grams of crack cocaine, 2 grams of powder cocaine, 2 dosage units of Oxycodone, 2 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Antwan Smith, 41 of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with the following: Trafficking Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, two counts of Possession of Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Misdemeanor Possession of Schedule II, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He received a $20,000 bond and a court date of November 8, 2022.
