2012 CASE OF MAN SHOT OUTSIDE A FRIENDS HOME ON BRANCH ST IN ROCKY MOUNT STILL UNSOLVED

EMMANUEL ROBERT GENT 26, was killed outside of a friends home at 1414 Branch St in Rocky Mount on 5/21/2012 around 10PM.


EMMANUAL was at his friend Tavarius Alston's home at 1414 Branch St. when they were both outside. Two unknown males approached the two and assaulted Alston and shot Gent.


Alston went into the home where his family called 911. RMPD arrived on scene and found Gent laying against the house and the water faucet was running. EMS arrived and pronounced Gent dead on the scene.


Gent was shot 4 times. Once in the face, once in the hand, once in the forearm and once in the leg. Gent also had abrasions on his knees and cuts on his forehead and lip.


Alston received minor injuries and was treated on scene.


Alston advised that two men, one wearing a red bandana over his face, a white T-shirt and black pants and another male wearing all black approached them in an attempted robbery. They were both seen leaving the area on foot.


Gent only had $1.32 on him.
