CASE OF 15 YEAR OLD SHOT AND KILLED IN ROCKY MOUNT STILL UNSOLVED

BRIAN TYRIK FREEMAN 15, was killed while walking to a friends house on the 700 block of Highland Ave in Rocky Mount around midnight on January 18th 2014.


RMPD was called to a scene at 723 Highland Ave , Rocky Mount at 12:13am on 1/18/2014. When RMPD arrived they found Brian laying in a yard on the corner of Highland and Woodland Ave. EMS was on scene and advised that he had passed.


There were several 9mm casings found at the scene. A 14 yr old juvenile was with Brian as he was walking and stated that a brown or tan Toyota Camry drove by them and the occupant started firing shots. The 14 yr old ran for cover, Brian was not able to escape the shots and was shot in the back.


Brian had a curfew of 9pm and did not show up at home, his mother and brother both text him and was unable to get a response. A friend who was on scene of the shooting stated that he was walking to a friends house for his mother to pick him up.


He and his family deserve justice.
