Guns stolen from vehicles in Rocky Mount. Reminder, don't leave guns in your vehicle

Guns were stolen from vehicles in two separate break ins.


On 7/10/2020 between 3am and 545am someone broke into a 2018 Hyundai Elantra on the 4700 block of Honeysuckle Lane in Rocky Mount and stole a handgun. Per the below police report from RMPD it shows that the vehicle was damaged in the break in and that the firearm was a 380 handgun and so far has not been found. The case however is marked as inactive.


On 7/06/2020 between 645Pm and 7PM someone broke into a 1996 Ford Ranger on the 100 block of Overlook Dr in Rocky Mount and stole a handgun. Per the below police report from RMPD it shows that the vehicle was damaged in the break in and that the firearm was a 9MM handgun and so far has not been found. The case is still under investigation.


If you have firearms or anything of value please do not leave it in your vehicle. It will get stolen and in the hands of someone who does not have good intentions. Not only are you protecting your valuables by removing them you may be saving a life.
