Man arrested after stealing multiple catalytic converters - Rocky Mount/Wilson

JOHN THOMAS COLEY JR 28, was arrested on Thursday this past week after photos of him and his vehicle were posted on Fighting Crime in attempts to identify a Catalytic Converter thief.


The photos showed Coley and his vehicle at the Bread Box on Benvenue Rd during the over night hours. Coley had taken catalytic converters off of 4 vehicles at that location alone, over two different nights.


Coley was identified and citizens contacted RMPD, ECSO and Fighting Crime with his identity.


ECSO and RMPD went to his home on Bullock School Rd in Edgecombe County and arrested him.


After being interviewed and questioned by RMPD he was charged then transferred to Wilson County to answer to thefts in that area. He was subsequently charged in more thefts in Wilson.


COLEY was charged with the following:

Four counts of Injury to Property to Obtain Metals and Larceny of Auto Parts


ROCKY MOUNT

Three Counts of Larceny of Auto Parts

Larceny

Released on an unsecured bond
