Man arrested in Rocky Mount store break in

An Officer responded to a B&E in progress at 3030 Sunset Ave

(Roses) on Monday February 15th around 11pm .

When officers arrived, Phillip Scott Shearin, a 56-year-old

male, was seen on video surveillance using a wooden board to break the

glass front door. He attempted to remove a coin-operated machine but

was unsuccessful.

previous 911 call for unauthorized use of a vehicle. Officers responded to the address of that call for service on the 11000 block of US 64 Alt. and located the vehicle.

Shearin was taken into custody and charged with one count of

Breaking and Entering and received a 5,000 unsecured bond.

Fighting Crime has requested the booking photo of Shearin from RMPD and will post when available.

Police Reports also state that he was charged with theft of a motor vehicle and assault.

RMPD did not send the bond amount on those charges.
