Man in jail on 2019 murder charge indicted on more charges - Rocky Mount


KAYLITH LEWIS MOORE was arrested in July of 2019 for the murder of Dominic Baker on Kinlaw Ct in Rocky Mount on July 28th 2019.


Moore was released from Nash County Jail on July 24th 2020 after he posted a $30,000 bond for his release. He was placed on an ankle monitor.


According to RMPD, they had received information on November 3rd 2020 that Moore was in possession of a handgun specifically a Springfield XD-9, 9mm with a green laser sight attachment.

Due to Moore being a convicted felon he was not allowed to possess a firearm or ammunition. Moore had a felony conviction in Nash County Superior Court, dated May 15, 2019. he pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Stolen Firearm, which is a felony offense, and received a sentence of 6 to 17 months' imprisonment.


RMPD proceeded to the residence on Huffines Ave where Moore was located according to his ankle monitor and found Moore and another person in a black Dodge Charger outside of the residence. The firearm was located on the floor of the passenger side of where Moore was sitting.


He was arrested and placed back in Nash County Jail under a $300,000 bond.

On February 10th 2021 Moore was Indicted on the charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
