MAN OUT ON BOND FOR TWO ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGES ELUDES NCSO IN CHASE ON 301


YASIN NASIR JONES who is out on a $300,000 bond for a November shooting in Rocky Mount led NCSO on a chase last night around 9pm that started on 301 near the bowling alley in Rocky Mount.


Jones was charged with two counts on Attempted First Degree Murder in reference to a November 20th 2020 shooting in Rocky Mount. Jones is accused of trying to kill Raheed Jones and Myleek Williams on Nov. 20 2020 . His bond was initially $1 million dollars and then reduced to $300,000.


Jones and another occupant were in a black BMW registered to Jones mother.


The chase headed southbound with speeds reaching over 100 mph while Jones and another occupant were throwing items out of the window. All items were recovered.


Sharpsburg Police Department deployed stop sticks at Divers Road which was able to flatten two tires on the BMW. At one point they were driving on the rim.


The chases ended just inside Wilson County on 301. The other occupant was transported to the hospital with difficulty breathing. At this time there is no word on who that suspect is as he/she was transported to the hospital. No one was injured in the chase.

POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA(NOT MARIJUANA); Arrest Date 03/31/2021;

Charge: 14-223 - RESISTING ARREST/HINDER & DELAY; Arrest Date 03/31/2021;


JONES is currently awaiting trial on the two Attempted Murder Charges
