JAYLEN MARQUIS SILVER 25, from Vernon Rd Rocky Mount was arrested after shooting a woman earlier this morning in the Meadowbrook area of Rocky Mount.
A call came in around 645am that a woman in a silver Nissan was shot and sitting in the middle of the road in her vehicle on Windsor Drive in the Meadowbrook area of Rocky Mount.
RMPD arrived on scene and determined that the female was shot under the armpit area.
Per RMPD, Investigations led them to the 1800 block of Vernon Rd. where they conducted an investigation and determined that JAYLEN SILVER shot the female.
Per RMPD, SILVER was charged with:
Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill/Inflict Serious Injury
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Felony Possession of Cocaine
He is in the Edgecombe County Jail under a $125,000 bond at this time.
SILVER has been charged MULTIPLE times for violently assaulting females.
JUNE 27TH 2021
On June 27th 2021 Silver was charged with Assault Inflicting Serious Injury and is to be tried on that case on January 13th 2022
NOVEMBER 9TH 2020
November. 9th, 2020 Silver was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm after a report of a domestic dispute on the 1800 block of Vernon Rd. Rocky Mount.
At 10 a.m. that day responded to the 1800 block of Vernon Road, spoke to A. Dyer and found out Silver threatened her with a firearm. RMPD found a spent 9mm shell casing and a 9mm projectile and also saw damaged household items.
Silver had left before officers arrived, but he was captured a short time later.
Bond was set at $50,000 secured and Silver was released after posting bond,
SEPTEMBER 8TH 2020
On September 8th, 2020 was charged with assault on a female and stalking.
In that case is accused of hitting F. Jones in the face and body, pointing a gun at her and phoning her several times throughout the night.
JULY 27TH 2019
A grand jury on July 13th, 2020 indicted Silver on charges of assault by strangulation, assault on a female, assault by pointing a gun, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen firearm. The incident originally occurred on July 27, 2019. Silver beat Dyer leaving a knot, bruises and bites on her. This case is expected to be heard in Superior Court in January.
He also has pending driving charges in Craven County.
Silver was convicted in 2015 in Nash County for common law robbery and soliciting robbery with a dangerous weapon he was placed on probation on those charges.
