Police ask for information regarding a Yorkie that was shot in Rocky Mount

On Jan. 15 at approximately 12:27 pm., the Rocky Mount Police Department responded to a suspicious event call in the 200 blk of Triple Ct.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the victim, Jeshona Allen. Allen found her dog (a small Yorkie) shot in the neighbor's yard. It was apparent the dog was shot in the head with a B.B. gun. The dog was rushed to Riverside Veterinary Hospital for emergency treatment.

Allen stated it is common for her dog to run around the neighborhood, but none of the neighbors have ever complained. We ask anyone with information to contact the Rocky Mount Police Department at 252-972-1411, Twin County Crime Stoppers at 252-977-1111, or Text-A-Tip (Text R.M.P.O.L.) and your message to CRIMES (274637). Your text is entirely anonymous.
