Accessory after the Fact charge dismissed on woman in Dominick Parker Murder - Rocky Mount

The charge was again disposed by the Edgecombe County District attorney citing

STATE PROCEEDING AGAINST PRINCIPAL E. ALSTON AND DIRECTLY LINKED CO-DEFENDANTS IN HOMICIDE PROSECUTION

The charge can be brought against Johnson again if evidence surfaces.


Per RMPD they have re-issued the accessory after the fact of murder charge against Cimone Johnson.


Initially Johnson was charged on December 31st,2020 by Nash County with Felony Accessory After the Fact of Murder in the death of Dominick Parker. Parker was found on December 30th, 2020 just outside of Castalia. He was killed at an earlier time at a different location and taken to Castalia and set on fire in an attempt to cover up the crime. NCSO advised that Parker was shot. After a probable cause hearing there was enough probable cause presented during the hearing to have her charge of Felony Accessory After the fact STAND and not be dismissed, However, there was a bond reduction on that charge. Her bond on that charge was reduced to $250,000 from the initial $500,000. A new court date was scheduled for 02/9/2021.


On February 9th, 2021 the Accessory after the Fact of Murder charge was DISMISSED with the Assistant District Attorney citing "NO CREDIIBLE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THIS CHARGE WAS PRESENTED TO THE ADA AT THIS TIME"


On February 16th,2021 RMPD found enough probable cause to re-issue the charge, the warrant was served on her on Friday February 19th, 2021 at the Nash County Jail where she was incarcerated. She has since been moved to Wake County Jail.

PREVIOUS STORY


In the case regarding the death of Dominick Parker who was found on December 30th 2020 just outside of Castalia, Two more were charged on Tuesday and arrested on Wednesday per RMPD.


On Wednesday December 30, 2020, members of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, along with members of local fire departments were dispatched to the 8300 block of North NC 58 in reference to a brush fire. Upon units arrival to the scene, a black male was found deceased in the area.


During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the victim, identified as Dominick Jermaine Parker, 27 years of age, had been shot and killed.

After the death, the suspects attempted to burn the body in an attempt to cover up the crime, which resulted in the brush fire that led to the initial discovery.


DAQUAN MONTRE WILLIAMS 25, from Dunn St in Rocky Mount was charged with Felony Accessory after the Fact


DESMOND DEPRIEST MITCHELL 31, From Bass Dr in Nashville was charged with Felony Accessory after the Fact.


After investigating they were able to charge Mitchell and Williams in this case with Accessory after the Fact.


Dominick was from Dunn St. and that is where investigators believe that the crime occurred.


Williams has a history of Larceny and Assault

Mitchell has a history of Discharging a Firearm into a property and has pending drug cases.

PREVIOUS STORY


The charge of Accessory after the Fact of Murder was dropped against Cimone Johnson on February 9th, 2021 with the Assistant District Attorney citing "NO CREDIIBLE EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THIS CHARGE WAS PRESENTED TO THE

ADA AT THIS TIME"


The case has since been adopted by RMPD as evidence has determined that the crime occurred in Rocky Mount.


Elijah Alston was charged with Murder in the case. The case is still being investigated and more charges against others is likely as the investigation unfolds.


It has not been released who actually was driving Johnson's vehicle at the time of the murder, however, police have leads in the case.


Johnson could still be charged as the investigation continues and more evidence is presented the the ADA.


Johnson is still in Nash County Jail under a $250,000 bond on drug charges.


PREVIOUS STORY


A Probable Cause hearing was held on January 21st 2021 in Nash County in the case against Cimone Altanese Johnson who was charged with Felony Accessory After the Fact of Murder in the death of Dominick Parker. Parker was found on December 30th, 2020 just outside of Castalia. He was killed at an earlier time at a different location and taken to Castalia and set on fire in an attempt to cover up the crime. NCSO advised that Parker was shot.


NCSO released photos of both vehicles involved in the incident. After investigating and sifting through evidence they charged Elijah Alston and Cimone Johnson.


There was enough probable cause presented during the hearing to have her charge of Felony Accessory After the fact STAND and not be dismissed, However, there was a bond reduction on that charge. Her bond on that charge was reduced to $250,000 from the initial $500,000. A new court date is scheduled for 02/9/2021.


JOHNSON was stopped on December 31st 2021 by ROCKY MOUNT POLICE DEPARTMENT on Highway 301 near MAY DR. in Rocky Mount. NCSO was advised shortly after the stop and they arrived on scene and took Johnson into custody and also seized the vehicle.


Due to evidence found during the investigation Johnson was charged with Felony Accessory After the fact of Murder, along with a host of drug charges. Her husband, Cedric Williams was arrested on drug charges and has NOT been charged in the Murder. The investigation is ongoing.


RMPD has now adopted the case from NCSO as during the investigation it was learned that the homicide occurred in the Rocky Mount City Limits at an earlier time. It is unsure if the homicide even took place on the same day that he was found.


More charges will be forthcoming.

Suspects Charged in Relation to Suspicious Death Call in Castalia

After diligent investigation, the Nash County Sheriff’s Office has made charges on two suspects in this case.


Elijah Devone Alston has been charged with First Degree Murder and Concealment/Failure to Report a Death.


He is in the Nash County Jail under No Bond.


Cimone Altanese Johnson has been charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder for this case, along with other drug charges that were already outstanding from an ongoing unrelated narcotics investigation. She is in the Nash County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.


A clear motive in this case is unknown at this time.
