VEHICLE PURSUIT THROUGH ROCKY MOUNT ENDS IN CRASH IN NASH COUNTY - EXCLUSIVE STORY

FIGHTING CRIME SUPPORTERS WERE MADE AWARE AT THE TIME OF THE PURSUIT.

Around 10pm Saturday 10/31/2020 an Edgecombe County Deputy stopped a vehicle in Rocky Mount.


The deputy found a handgun on the person. When he went back to his car to run the serial number the driver of the vehicle took off.


They headed down Church St to Fenner Rd to Thomas Betts Parkway and then headed north through Goldrock.


Many Nash County Deputies responded and caught up with the Edgecombe County Deputy in Drake and took over the chase.


The driver ran the red light in Goldrock and kept going to Watson Seed Farm Rd and then the Straight Gate Rd.


The vehicle ultimately crashed on Straight Gate Rd near Swift Creek School Rd.


The driver was taken into custody.

At this time a name has not been released.


It is unknown if the firearm was stolen.

The driver is facing an array of charges.
