Woman last seen at a swimming pool in Rocky Mount 25 years ago still missing

Updated: Feb 14, 2021

Linda Williams Lawrence left a private swimming pool in the High Meadows neighborhood of Rocky Mount at 8:30 p.m. June 13, 1996, and was never seen or heard from since.

The black and silver full size 1984 Ford pickup she was driving was found at Meadowbrook Park with the keys and her personal belongings still inside. Police found no signs of foul play in the truck, but Linda was never seen again.

A retired police detective from RMPD revealed to Lindell Kay with the "Kay Files" that Linda had a female room mate that took a polygraph test and failed. The female room mate was "involved" with a female RMPD Crime Scene detective. That detective, as the retired RMPD Detective stated kept "Inserting" herself in the case making her and the room mate look suspicious. The Crime Scene detective took an early retirement. It also seemed suspicious that the vehicle was "wiped clean" with no finger prints.

Linda's credit cards were also used by a drug dealer just days after her disappearance.

She was 45 years old at the time and had a butterfly tattoo on her left hip. She was wearing a pink bathing suit, black T-shirt and white sandals.
